Background
As of 2023, 35% of Tinder users are Gen Z. There is a change in what Gen Z expect from dating apps like tinder. While 38% of young adults had casual relationships in 2007, this number dropped to 24% in 2017. But Tinder is mostly considered as a hookup app and it is not meeting their need of finding a meaningful relationship.
Product Journey
Our Goal
Within 6 weeks, enhance the Tinder functionalities for Gen Z, which will help them to achieve a romantic relationship within 2 months of actively using the app, aiming to increase user engagement among this demographic by 30%.
Features
Introducing trust indicators, including user intention tags and trust scores based on community feedback. These features create transparency, helping users understand others’ expectations upfront and fostering a safer and more reliable dating experience.
Chat streaks encourage users to maintain consistent conversations by rewarding ongoing engagement. This feature motivates deeper interactions and helps users build stronger connections over time.
Better Compatibility Matching
Our compatibility scoring system starts with a simple survey, collecting user preferences, values, and interests. By analyzing these inputs, we calculate a personalized compatibility score, helping users find matches who truly align with their goals and personality, making connections more meaningful and intentional.
Meet-Up Clarity
A streamlined meet-up feature allows users to clearly communicate their readiness to meet in person. By offering mutual confirmation tools, the app reduces misunderstandings and ensures both parties are comfortable and aligned.
